We visited Halifax and Brier Island in Nova Scotia, Canada, on June 24 and 25, 2016. Then went to Montreal where we birded at Parc-nature de L'lle-de-la-Visitation and Ile Bizard on June 27, 2016. On June 28 we saw some birds at the Botanical Gardens.
Some special birds were the Marsh Wren and Virginia Rail on Ile Bizard which were hard to find, and the Northern Gannet (a lifer for me that I have since seen in Half Moon Bay also) near Brier Island. For my son the Pileated Woodpecker was a lifer (among several others).
Thanks to Birdingpals Joan in Halifax and Michel in Montreal for guiding us.
