Birded Goa in July 2017. The limitations on this trip were the timimg (off season for birding), the weather (hot and wet) and the lack of my 500 mm lens. The ideal visit would be between November and February, but we were there in July for a wedding celebration.
My local guide was Rueben Pereira of goabirding.com. Highly recommended for his knowledge of local species and willingness to make the extra effort to get target species (such as the Brown Boobook). We visited Bondla Reserve and Carambolim Lake. I added 24 lifers, with the highlights being the Brown Boobook (aka Brown Hawk-Owl) and the Malabar Gray Hornbill (one of the many Western Ghat endemics found in Goa and which I had missed seeing in Kerala).
