My second trip to Kerala in Jan 2024 was more successful than back in 2015, where Thattekad had to be cancelled due to illness (although it was still a great trip otherwise).
My friend and fellow birder/photographer Pranav arranged the trip. It was a bit short (2 and half days) but highly productive, with a total of over 60 species; with several Western Ghat endemics, and a bunch of lifers for me.
The most exciting time was owling one night where we got to see 3 species (Mottled, Indian-Screech and Spot-bellied Eagle Owl) in an hour and half.
